Alternative Fuels

I will be sharing my experiences and training with alt. fuels. Most of the information I will share concerns biodiesel blends. I have extensive history with B-20 and B-2 blends. Did you know that in the early development of diesel engines they used peanut oil for fuel? I met a Delaware DOT Fleet Manager several years ago and he told me the ferry(s) that crossed Chesapeake Bay were fueled by B-100 (in other words it was all organic/no diesel fuel was blended in) to reduce environmental damage to the Bay in case of a fuel spill. The diesel engine was quite happy burning bio fuel and didn;t run in extremely cold weather so gelling was not an issue. Anyway, stay tuned, more to come..........
